Got my tunes last night from Trent N. Now I need to wire up the DSP2 switch. Where are you guys running the wires through the firewall? I haven't looked yet but I'm hoping that there is a grommet around the steering column area?
I drilled a 1 1/4" hole just to the left and up from the steering column (there's a hole in the firewall insulator in that spot) and popped a Mr Gasket valve cover plug, P/N 6375 with some 3/16" holes I made with a gasket punch. I ran all my gauge wires/lines and Rob used the same grommet for the DSP5, makes for a clean, non leaking feed through. Make sure you use high temp nylon wire loom, I used the generic NAPA stuff and it drooped from the heat. Also, make sure there's no wires routed where you drill...
I was going to route mine through the existing wire loom. But the mr gasket valve cover plug sounds like a better idea. can you get that at any auto parts store?
Your easiest option is to go in the big grommet that is already there. I poked holes in it for my DSP, amp power, gauges. Then sealed it up with a little RTV silicon. I used an ice pick to poke the holes then some wire like Jmaz said.
