I just did an engine swap on my 2006 LBZ I replaced everything that turns and supports the engine in any way shape or form I have a horrible whining sound coming from the front of the engine I suspect it's either the new CP3 pump or the new water pump gears it sounds just like a gear drive cam setup on a small block Chevy or similar I have removed the fan belt the noise stays there it gets worse with RPM but is there at an idle I have spent close to $15,000 on this truck and 4 months of my life would really like to have this final issue behind me thank you in advance for all your help

Did you replace the water pump?

My guess is the water pump is whining. Had a guy ask about the same thing on here only a few weeks ago, the noise went away with an ACDelco pump. He had used a NAPA pump.

Not worth running it and potentially overheating the engine or leaving you stranded when it fails, but that’s your call.
