On my way to work this morning there was a slow ford in front of me, when I got the opportunity to pass I did, then in his headlights I could see I was pouring white, bluish smoke, no smoke prior to passing. Im thinking injector went out. I noticed in the lower RPMs less than 1500 there is strong vibration, limped it to work, still smoking.
After work, limped it home, still smoking and vibration. Smokes more when loaded, not much at idle. Checked the balance rates, there +/-2. Code popped up, P0301 (#1 cylinder misfire detected). Noticed oil blew out of the filler tube, when engine is running, strong puffs of air coming out of the oil fill tube, seems to be from one cylinder, I can seal the tube with my hand (not very strong pressure).

Cracked piston? Blow by? Injector stuck open?

Im stomped, this truck is my daily driver too :help

You need to do a compression test, I think your gonna find a bad cylinder

^^ x2. Blow-by (puffing out oil fill tube and excessive crankcase pressure) is indicative of a bad/damaged cylinder of various origins.

Found the problem, another LBZ with a cracked piston…
