2021 2500HD Denali with 2600 miles. . I can not get the AC power outlets to work, the engine is running. I have a small iPad charger plugged in, I push the button to turn on the outlets, the button lights up steady green, the little green light by the actual outlet doesn't turn on.

I did take it to the dealership a few days ago and when I went to demonstrate it to them, it actually worked. I was shocked. They said ok bye.

Here I am trying to get it to work again and nothing will power from either the cab or bed outlets, even though the button light is solid green and the engine is running. The green light on the outlet will not turn on. It's a small load, maybe 5-10 watts so it's definitely not overloaded. I've tried several different items in the outlet and same result.

What am I missing here?

What did you have plugged in at the dealership?. The truck can provide only 400 WATTS split between both outlets. If my math is correct max amps between both outlets is 3.33 AMPS. 400 / 120 = 3.33. If your estimate of 5-10 is correct you tripped the protection circuit and it shut down.

When I was at the dealership, I could hear a click when I pushed the button on the dash to power the outlets and the outlets little green light would turn on when a load was plugged in. Sounded like when you push the button it closed a relay or powered in an inverter. The sound seems to have come from behind the back seat, maybe that is where the inverter is located.

Yeah, the intermittent functionality sounds like some sort of loose/stuck connection to me. A ~400w inverter is not very big so it could definitely be under/behind the rear seat.

I think there is some sort of either load sensing circuit or possibly a contact switch inside the outlet that actually turns the inverter on. I noticed it's very sensitive to following a 'sequence' in plugging things in at the right time. Just pushing the button to enable the inverter does not put 120 vac at the outlet (I tested it) The outlet has to have just enough, but not too much load to turn on.

I used it once to run a coffee grinder when camping. It took lots of fun moves and timing to get it to run- I think it only ran if I pushed the button momentarily on the grinder, at the moment I plugged it into the outlet, while standing on one leg and holding the grinder with my right hand above my head.

This inverter is a mystery. I have a 2021 and its always worked. I dont use it very often. Usually to just charge a tablet. Its been working fine the last 2 days. Today nothing. The green light turns on but nothing at the outlet in the cab or the bed. I checked what fuses i could find. Seems to me if there was a problem the green light wouldnt come on. The manual says if the green light turns on then the system is working. What do I need to check? Is the inverter itself accessible? Is there something there to check? Any help is greatly appreciated. Ill bring it to the dealer when I get back home but im sure they will just want to throw new parts at it.

It's likely the load-sensing functionality. Try keeping a small purely resistive load (like a nightlight with an incandescent bulb) plugged in. That should always be "seen" by the inverter as a load.

I'll try that. It worked great today. One thing I did notice is that when it wasn't working the green light on the on button was on but not in the outlet itself. Today there was also a green light on the outlet itself along with the on button. It must be very sensitive.

I have a 2023, GMC 2500 AT4 and the 110 doesn’t work hasn’t worked since I got it six months ago Dealerships telling me that the batteries is too low cause I don’t drive my truck enough dealership put battery charger on and it worked for a week then the dealership told me I need to charge the battery or start the truck twice a week to keep it up the charge I did this and still doesn’t work. Very frustrated with GM and the dealer. .

Sounds like you might benefit from a proper load test on your batteries. Isolated separate tests. One or both of your Batteries may not be up to snuff if they’ve been draining and set low on charge for a while. Or, one may have been weak from the start and pulled/pulling the other one down. Dealer trying to stiff you on warranty-ing the batteries out??
Try another dealer or a Chevy dealer. My Chevy has never seen a Chevy dealer only a GMC dealer. GM is GM as far as service work.

Same problem here. For a few months after I got the new truck I could charge my laptop. Now, even though the green lights are on the button and plug I cannot get it to charge. I can, however, plug my laptop into the charger in the bed and it will charge. IDK. So frustrating to push the button and hear the inverter kick on but get no power.

I had the same issues with the listed symptoms on my 2023 work truck. Inverter worked fine for the first few months charging drill batteries. Then it stopped working. I used a 12VAC circuit testing plug to monitor. I'd try the inverter every morning before I started driving. About once a week, the tester would indicate that the inverter was working. I wouldn't use the inverter as it was unreliable and I just used one that plugged into the accessory plug. After a month or so, the inverter would never work and I gave up. I mentioned it to the dealer when the truck went into service and had the issue added to the PO. It was pretty obvious that they had no desire to address the issue. Again, not an important device to me as I liked the accessory plug inverter I was using. Move forward about 40k miles, and it was time for a new battery. I didn't want the downtime for a battery, so I got a PO from our fleet office and picked up a battery at an auto parts storethav we have an account at. I took the new battery to the house, where I have an awesome set of tools (my dad wasn't a TV repairman and my job is an electronics tech) as my work tools are limited to electronic tools. I replaced the battery and was heading back to the auto parts store to core the old battery. I reached down and pushed the inverter button. IT WORKED! I check, and use the inverter (small devices only) frequently. Seems to work better now than when I took delivery of the truck!!!! My suggestion is to remove the battery leads and let sit for at least 15 mins and then hook it back up. You'll likely have to roll the windows up and down, stick your left finger in your right ear, stand on your right hand while clipping your left toe nail...... I'm sure you get my point with all the things that require reset, but it may work for you. I remembered coming to this forum trying to find a solution, but never saw any resolutions. Well here's mine! Enjoy!
