Hey guys I have usually been just a lurker, but haven't quite found anything out if anyone has successfully relocated their DEF tank. I really didn't mind my 2015 LML tank as it wasn't that bad, but the 2017 L5P ones are monsterly huge and really need to be able to put the AMP steps on to help me get in the truck easier. So right now I am in the testing phase right now. Noticed that the only items that will need to be lengthened is the 8 wire connector to the control module and the urea pipe from the pump to the injector. I went ahead and made sure that the tank will come out easy a couple days ago and there are only the fill and vent on the top of the 2017 tanks where all the electronics and pump are on the bottom. I went ahead and ordered a new fill line so that I can leave the other one in its place if I need to put it back in its original location. Today I was able to lengthen the wire harness 10 feet so that it will reach to the bed. I used 16 gauge wires for the smaller wires and 12 gauge for the larger wires. There are 8 wires on that harness. right now I don't have any CELs on and will drive this for a couple days while I wait on the pump tube to come in and make sure it doesn't pop anything. I did forget that I had it unplugged while working on it and started it up and that pops a CEL quickly, but after I cleared that one was when I had started working on the wire harness. I'll keep updating this with pics later as I get along further on this. My end state is to relocate it to the bed on the passenger side front which will work good since I have a rollup bed cover to hide it there.
