Found a 5th wheel toyhauler but not sure if I can safely tow it. Biggest concern is the pin weight of 2100lbs. I have a 2500 crew cab 4/4 short bed with the Duramax Diesel.

its not the frames that make the difference. the 2500hd and 3500 frame is the exact same. the different is the extra wheels. dually are wider making them more stable. have 2 more tires making the GVW weight higher because those 2 tires can hold another 6500lbs. also the biggest thing a dually has over a single wheel is stopping power. those extra wheels make stoping much easier. if i was pulling anything bigger then i was id get one. bad thing is they are not nice to park sometimes and they dont do well in snow storms around here (cant keep 4 tires in a 2 tire show track). i alsomost bought a 05 dualy actually but got the 03 instead.Posting from experience with a 2500HD. I say you are fine with that trailer. Get air bags for sure and a 18K Super Glide hitch.
I pulled a Fuzion 362 back from South Dakota to N.Cali in my 2500, I dont recommend that trailer for a 2500. Its 2800 on the pin and 12500 lb dry. I did a ton of research on hauling that trailer with a 2500HD. Most guys I spoke to had heavier trailers and they supposly had no issues. Well I am here to tell ya I had some issues. I got plenty familiar hauling that trailer back and I am here to tell you no way. Trailer was to much for that truck. Power wise the truck did good but frame wise no way. That trailer had its way with that truck on the road. It jerked like crazy not to mention the 7 mpg hauling it back from S.Dakota. So I bought a GMC dually. Let me tell you it was a nite and day difference. The dually platform is so much more stable than a SRW truck. So in my opinion you will be fine with that trailer. I think you will be right at the limits of that truck, but do able.
