Is he sure it's the IP and not the PMD?

Are there any other issues?

I paid $2800 for mine with just below 193K on the odometer, and I've found a few issues that I didn't originally catch and weren't advertised by the seller since I've purchased it. That price doesn't sound too bad, just be sure to thoroughly check it before dropping the cash

 

93 don't have a pmd and they took the pump off the truck thinking it was bad and lost parts to it. the owner is going to buy the part i am just trying to speed the process up because he is in no hurry. so i don't know if anything else is wrong

 

Oh crap... you're right. I didn't pay attention to the year... it's a mechanical pump rather than an electronic one.

DB2 injection pumps aren't too expensive, but it's a somewhat labor-intensive project, as you have to take the intake off and go from there. If you're good at wrenching, I'd say go for it


I was also going to refer you to this page which gives a great synopsis of what to check for on a used 6.5

 

those older injection pumps do suck to change, but if that is the only thing wrong with the truck i would say go for it. sounds like a pretty good deal.

That sounds pretty fair for the year. For that price you should be able to part it out and get your money
