I bought an aftermarket deck for my truck (new to the fourm btw). I recently bought an 03 gmc 2500 duramax. I have Bose and steering wheel controls, iam wondering what aftermarket wiring harnesses I will need. Visions in airdrie Alberta told me the ones I needed and the cost of the harnesses was 430$ seemed steep so I bought the deck and left!
The deck is a pioneer avh-x2500bt

Thanks for the help!

Go to crutchfield.com and do the menu item that tells you what items will fit your vehicle, then choose the stereo that matches. The site will show you. The harnesses that are needed. This is what i did for my Alpine system with an Audigy unit and everything was plug & play. I got the box for the steering wheel controls, the Chevy Bose harness, the install kit, and the stereo system for under 200.

I just wen through the same thing. I have an '04 with Bose, SWC, and OnStar . I ended up going through a local audio shop and got a Crux SOOGM-15. wiring harness. I paid about $160 for it, which is pricey but not no $450!!! Sounds great, BTW. Anyhoo. hope this was helpful :drink

Yea it was an all in one package. comes with everything you need to keep everything factory minus the door chimes, which are moved to a supplied box that acts as the "radio module" persay for the aftermarket deck. But yea SW controls are kept, OnStar is kept. just changes the tone of the chimes a tiny bit is all you will notice.

Just got it from Best Buy. It was like $20 bucks, but I only installed a single din, but I think the kit also had a double din install? I don't know since my dog got into the garage and chewed up anything he could get off my workbench . I'd imagine of you have any sort of custom audio shop locally near you, they should have what you are looking for, just be sure you are going to a reputable shop, cause I have heard way to many horror stories of crap products from shady businesses.

I installed a nav unit a few months back. I had to get 3 separate harnesses due to having the Bose. My steering wheel control module it completely separate from the radio harness along with the chime module and the steering wheel module had to be programmed to operate the aftermarket. It's wasn't cheap but when I bought nearly 1k at the audio place I went to they threw in just about everything else.

I had some trouble getting harnesses and interfaces. I have about $140 in an access system that was not too hard to set up. I went with the one that does not retain onstar. Most install kits that I have seen are made for single or double din. they just have a pocket that can be put in instead of single din. Mine came from advance auto for $20 and it is alright.

I have a 2003 GMC not the Bose system and I just bought a new pioneer AVH-2700BS so that I could use backup cameras and monitor . I got the wiring harness for the steering wheel controls and on star and I cannot get the front speakers to work. The radio shows only the front speakers but sounds comes out the rear speakers.i have tried everything I can think of to get it working.
