Old fashioned black and white pic...lol

 

Every Baldwin B1441 that I've bought for my truck has been red with a smooth can. The gray looks like a knock off.

No not black and white, that was my first thought when I started searching though. You can see from the round part that they are different styles, just want to make sure I'm ordering the right part.

I agree with Towing dude, it's black and white.. Do a google search of that part number, you will find some that are entirely smooth/round and some with the squared off bottom with grip - but all are red. I would guess one is an old design?

Yeah it's a black and white pic.I do see what you are saying though about the bottom of the filter having a different shape.

 

And different number of holes and welds in the end.

Who'd have ever thought you'd have to inspect your filter to make sure it's genuine, but I guess scumbags will try and counterfeit anything they can. Fortunately, I have the Baldwin distributor just down the street from me which is the only place I will buy my Baldwin filters, and as luck would have it, they are also the Racor distributor in my area as well.
