What color truck is the best?

Window sticker on my Suburban says “Sterling Gray Metallic” which is so boring, but then I found out the same paint code (WA130H) is called “Sharkskin” on a Camaro. Any color is fine as long as it has a cool name!

I became soured on white after most of the paint on my 2010 Express van literally fell off in sheets starting at about year seven.

Don't sharks shed their skin also? Gray has improved over the years, but years ago it was the worst as it had no UV protection and turned flat and shed off over time. But you're right as "Sharkskin" does sound pretty cool! Summit white, not so much, maybe GM's Olympic White?

I will once again state that white is best! Camouflage in the winter, much cooler in the summer. Right?
Cooler in the never-ending summer heat and matches any camper/RV/boat/trailer load I may haul.

This is why I like white. Was on the back porch yesterday and looked up. Couldn't believe how good a VERY dirty, 23 year old truck looks. Haven't washed it it 3-4 months at least and it rains here constantly during spring and summer. It's rained 12 of the last 14 days.

It can rain a week here and it won't wash all of the dirt off of my white truck.

No, it doesn't wash off anything when it rains but driving in the rain makes it absolutely filthy. Well, maybe it washes off a little dust or pollen but mud and grime from driving wet roads more than makes up for that.

The point was that my truck is filthy right now but still looks pretty good. It's even got grey streaks where crud runs down the sides in the rain.

White is the best because it hides swirls, chips, and dings the best (primer is normal white even on a black or red car). It reflects light where black attracts, meaning the truck stay cooler and doesn't roast to melt the plastic/glue content. It stands out more so people so your big truck coming. It is the easiest color to touch up, repaint, or detail.

My second choice would be silver for same above reasons, but it also blends in more. It's uncomfortable for me to look at a white car without glasses in full sunlight.

I'm normally not a chrome guy, but wanted to try something new.

When I see red truck I think firetruck so that's a hard no.

Black or any darker color is an absolute nightmare to maintain, though looks great if is in good shape and polished, though that eventually wears down the clearcoat. Most people aren't OCD about their truck and wont maintain it.
I am, I have a black one and keep it polished up.

I voted red but with only a few shades of it in mind. I like the butte red metallic, the deep ruby metallic is good too, and there might be another shade or two. But not the bright victory red or something like that.
I’ve never had a white truck, just couldn’t do it, to boring. I said to a dealer in Massachusetts, “I don’t like white.” He replied with, “That’s a little racist don’t you think?!”
