Hey guys im looking to install a 0-30 fuel pressure gauge in my supply line coming from the filter houseing to the FICM.i was planning on splicing the line and putting the sender in there. however..i Need to know what pressures the Cp3 tends to pull from the tank because if its around 5 psi then it wont make much sense to put the gauge in....i kinda thought that i can monitor the pressure in between filter changes and when it starts to get lower ill know about how often my truck likes to run on a filter and i will get a lift pump eventually also...so Does ANYONE know about how much pressure the CP3 pulls from the tank? NOT the pressure it pushes to the rail. Thanks:drink

It creates vacuum, and not pressure. Without a aftermarket lift pump, you will need to get a gauge that reads "in.HG". From reading on the net, you test at idle and after you get your baseline "new GM filter is around 2in. hg" and change the filter when it gets 5in. hg above your baseline reading. Now with that said I am unsure how much vac the system creates at wide open throttle. I assume you should be fine with a 30 In. Hg/20 psi, but you would only be using the reading "for filter changes" while the truck is Idling.

I think it is a good idea, as it will extend your filter changes as you will not be changing a filter that is just fine.
