Do I need to do a full flash after switching from switch to serial?

Have you had the cts2 linked with the tunes?

No the tunes were made five years ago and I've used a DSP5 ever sense I just got the CTS2 and would like to use it to change my tunes I know I have to go into the operating system and change it from switch to serial. But I didn't know if I had to perform a full flash.

Bump?

Give ATP trucks a call and they will get you fixed up.

Whoever you have your tunes with, call them....they have to get it fixed that way

Even though the tunes aren't locked?

You can't make the cts2 work with the dsp5 without the tuner making it work

My truck has tunes from the previous owner that I really like except for the turbo scream instead of rumble at idle. He never put in a dsp 5 switch and just always changed them with the autocal. It was some random little shop in Cali that did them according to him.. would a cts2 work to switch in between these tunes?
How would I set that up, and do any of you know if a tuner would be willing to mess with only parts of someone else's tune?
I really want a rumble at idle, the speedo and odometer to be corrected for the bigger tires, and maybe a little different fueling because the truck spools much much faster now. I don't want to loose the ability to smoke a bit when I want to and fro. What I hear, none of the good tuners would allow that to happen because they are against smoking.

You are asking the exact same thing as the OP. As stated above you will need to have a tuner adjust your tune. Obviously they aren't going to do it for free. As far as the smoke tunes that kind of activity is the reason for the ever tightening EPA restrictions on diesels... so I seriously doubt any tuner is going to be keen on them. People that think blowing black smoke all over the place is cool is the reason why the vast majority of performance diesel enthusiasts now have to spend thousands of dollars deleting the ever increasing crap the EPA is mandating... because it's offensive... it's like being packed in an elevator and crapping in your pants and thinking it's cool to see everyone gag...

That is an awesome way to describe it. I am going to use that.
