Yes they can be replaced. Tunes generally went something like this 1) 10 over 2) Heavy tow 30 over 3) lite Tow 60 over 4) performance 90 over 5) 120 over if it was a reputable shop.

 

I think mine were put in backwards on the dsp5. counter clockwise it smokes heavily and drives a lot different. All the way clockwise seems to be the most mild. Th

Strange on the dial indicator. YOU DO NOT want to have smoke pouring out at Idle. A small amount on a heavy foot is normal. I Used ATP who no longer is doing the tuning. AS for new MAybe PPE or COry Willis.. are the names that I see get brought up the most but have no 1st hand knowledge of their tunes.

 

GDP tuning did mine and the DSP5 switch is reversed(1hot-5least hot).

They're not bad but my buddy has ATP and his are better.

 

Since I have these mystery tunes would it be smart to get a lift pump or a transgo jr. kit? I'm not going to beat on this truck but plan on doing a lot of towing with it. I have an idea of what the towing tune is on my dsp5 switch but cannot be certain. Just want to make it reliable and last.

 

I would get a lift pump and stay out of the two hottest tunes. A trans go is better but you'll need a built trans eventually for the hot tunes.

 

I've debated between getting a Fass or AirDog but not sure what I need. Fass has a dura-max flow enhancer or the titanium series 100 lift pump that has the extra filter and water separator. Have read a lot about people having 1/4 tank issues when installing lift pumps. I don't plan on using the hot tunes hardly at all.

 

Fass is an easier install, but they're the same idea and price.

 

I'd get hooked up with new tunes before anything else. Look to the Great White North. Highly recommend a company from up there.
