Ok.. so I feel like a retard of some kind because I am usually pretty good at figuring things out on my vehicles... but that damn GPCM!...2011 LML were is it located? I have been getting a code that its malfunctioning (cant remember the code) and this morning the temp was 18 and the truck would not start till I plugged it in for a while.... I have seen only a couple of references that is on the firewall drivers side.... but that must be for older trucks... or I am just blind and dumb.... can someone help my find the missing module?? thanks.

Welcome [emoji106] check the harness for frays and or rubs, also, double check the battery cable that supplies it, for corrosion. And verify the mega fuse on the passenger battery is still good.
You’ll have to use a multimeter and verify voltage. Or pull the fuse and verify continuity [emoji106]

So I thought I should update this thread....... I did find some major corrosion on the positive cable going to the GPCM. I cleaned all the connections on the positive side of the battery, cleaned the connections on all the glow plugs and tested them, but still had issues, then it hit me that I had thought a few times that the engine seemed a bit slow cranking over, not much... just not quite fast as I thought it should... so testing time again.... sure enough after setting less than an hour after charging both were at 10.4 volts. SO.... two new battery and TA-DA... its been perfect ever since.

Guys,

just found this thread and i'm hoping you experts may be able to help me what what i think are Glow Plug control Module related problems...

so I did EGR delete/Tune, with new exhaust and about a week after that i received the following codes. DTC's P154D, P16AB, and P16A8..(I've only been able to find the meaning of one of them, which is coming up as voltage issues on the intake air heater, which I think is controlled by the GPCM.)

so I checked that the Lead and the connector to the GPCM are all seated firmly (they were never disconnected to begin with) and that there is no corrosion on the lead wires to the battery bank, however along with this issue, I cant auto start the truck. next thing ill do it make sure the battery voltage it good, but i assume it is, as nothing else is really acting up(i don't think)

i guess the questions i have is how can I test the GPCM to verify if that is what is causing this, i think a GPMC for my truck is about 200 and i'm willing to change it if that will fix everything, but want to be sure that's the issue....
then if/when I get to that point i think you need to have it programmed right? so am i stuck with paying for the dealer to program?

hoping to get this squared soon, as were starting to hit colder temps and i think the Glow Plug system/Intake air heater are going to help start ups on those cold days...
and finally if/when i replace the GPCM do i need to replace glow plugs as well?

sorry for the barrage of questions, but hoping someone may know better than I
Thanks
