GMC diesel engine coolant control valve time to repair

My dealer is asking for 13 hours labor to repair this when the warranty company will only pay for four hours. How long should it take to replace this part? They are asking me to pay about $3000 out of pocket after the almost $1000 that the warranty company dealer policy will pay. Is this really a $4000 fix on the 2021 AT4 sierra diesel engine? The truck has 71,000 miles and I purchased the extended warrant for five years 100,000 miles.

On the newer ones, it's only about 4 hrs. I would make sure the warranty company has the right information down. It sounds like they are using the labor guide for a newer model. Also, make sure they know it's on a LM2 engine. The base engine for these is the 4.3L v6 gas engine. 13 hrs is in the ballpark of what it should take. It's a 9hr repair if they don't claim severe. They can claim "severe" if they encounter environmental/wear factors that interfere with a standard repair. I.e. rust, rounded bolts etc etc. Below is the dealer hours for your truck. Don't tell anyone I gave you this info...I don't know if I am supposed to or not.

Still up in the air… was covered under PT warranty until recently then emissions which is only 2 yrs, 24000 miles I believe for this part. Demonworks did a video on it and a follow up saying it was an error and would be corrected. But has it been corrected…? 🤷‍♂️

So update on this,
My truck went in Monday March 17, for the coolant control value.
It is covered under warranty and they gave me a rental car no problem.
I called them to see when it would possibly be ready, as the person who called to get me set up with my rental wasn’t my technician.
He said the ETA for the part is May-August.
he thinks likely May, but it could be as late as august.
He did confirm that they have a NEW coolant control value , that fixes the problem with the pre existing ones.
He said if I wanted the truck back sooner I could buy one myself online and they could put it in however it’ll just likely break again. He said the new value is supposed to be much more reliable

I never heard the LZ0 was supposed to be any better.
seems like they’re failing sooner than the LM2.
He said it’s an all new part/part number and design. So we’ll see

Hi! Can you tell me if you got the control valve yet? I am currently at 2 months. Also, if you did , have you had any new issues? I appreciate your time!
