Is there really a fuel heater in/around/near where the fuel filter connects? I keep having issues with gelling. It got down to about 7 degrees here last night so I plugged the truck in overnight. I realize this does nothing for the fuel. I am however running an anti gel additive. I started the truck up this morning. The glow plug light didn't even come on due to it being plugged in all night. It started up fine and ran normally for about 10 seconds then shut down. Now not even a hint of firing. I'm assuming the filter is gelled. It had about 20% of life left on it according to the DIC. My guess is that since it probably wasn't the cleanest to begin with that maybe it gelled easier? For some reason this truck seems to eat fuel filters like crazy especially in the winter. I'm just wondering if someone could help me identify if there is a heater and how do you tell if it's functioning? Or, does someone make an electric blanket for your fuel filter? Thanks a bunch all!
