So I have a 17 l5p with it’s been fully deleted 3inch down pipe to 5 inch straight and it’s loud don’t get me wrong but it’s not as loud as some of my buddy’s trucks and trucks I hear driving down the road. I’ve been told tuning would fix it has anyone had this problem before and changed tunes and it got louder?

Are you referring to overall sound? Turbo whistle? Rumble? Tuning does make a difference in sound, especially at an idle. If tuner has vane position at a high percentage you will get a lot of whistle, lower will get more of a “rumble” sound. Tuning also affects sound at higher rpm’s, such as the cackle that l5p’s are notorious for, I’m sure that has to do with injection timing, vane pod, etc. I have files from 2 different tuners and yes they do sound different, but as far as overall decibels.. I’m sure they are very similar

Are you wanting it to be louder like your friends trucks or quieter? You can add a muffler or resonator to tone it down some.
I want it louder my truck is fully straight piped 5 inches all the way back and a 3.5inch down pipe
