Does anyone know the correct U-bolt torque for a 2019 3500 SRW? Tons of varying answers out there, but none when it comes to L5P 3500 (that I can find). Thanks!

  • Install the U-bolt nuts in a criss-cross sequence.
    • For the 1500, tighten the nut to 100 Nm (74 lb ft).
    • For the 2500/3500, tighten the U-bolt nut to 160 Nm (118 lb ft).
  • Tighten the front rear spring mounting nut
Tighten the front nut to 200 Nm (148 lb ft).
  • Tighten the rear leaf spring hanger to shackle nut and bolt.
Tighten the shackle nut to 90 Nm (70 lb ft).

Thanks Ron. Is this for the LMM 5/8" bolts? The L5P is 18mm. 118 seems about right, but it's amazingly hard to find the specs for the L5P (unless you just gave that to me). Regardless, thank you!

I think they may require you tighten to X, do a little dance, pray to the gods of suspension, then crank the nut an additional X degrees. But, perhaps not with the 3500. I don't know. It's crazy this info isn't readily available.

I have (had) the rear clunk when stopping (not always). There are a bunch of posts on that out there. Noticeably worse this cross-country trip. I guessed it might be the u-bolts. After breaking initial resistance, I could get a little movement with 70#. I worked the pattern in stages and went to 100. Clunk seems to be gone. Since I can't come up with the definitive answer, I'm going to go with 118. 2,600 miles to get home with our camper in tow, so hopefully this works.

I'm still hoping someone on here has the correct answer. Pulling out at 4AM. Thanks.
