precision industries torque converter

I had a Precision in my Mike L. tranny. It shed friction material, and locked the tranny in limp home mode.

Mike took it out, and replaced it with a Goerend converter. No issues ever again.

 

I'm soon to pull the trigger on a trans build for my lly myself. I'm thinking about upgrading up pipes while the trans is out.

Thanks for the tips guys, yeah trans is coming out for now but when the motor comes out for head gaskets, its getting manifolds/up pipes/y bridge/bigger turbo.
Anyone else go tips on the trans?

 

Who is gonna build it? I'm looking at these builder's and gotta pick one... Mike L at Inglewood trans, Evan at Limitless, Brad at Calvin's, Scott at Screaming Diesel

Im going to be building it, few of the guys i work with have rebuilt allisons before and are willing to help me with it. Im just looking to fill in the gaps in my parts list and any helpful info

 

I've read that alot of guys upgrade the shift valve (?) springs, they get them from Mike L I believe. Maybe something worth checking into.

I don't know for sure, but I've seen quite a bit of talk about Mike's springs.

Call Evan at limitless and get his kit. Will come with everything a directions + tech support.

No other way to go imo if your doing it yourself

 

Don't use a transgo as well.

If you are gonna do this right, reach out to mike or Evan and ask these questions. Most of what you get here is repeated info from them, but many of us don't have the right answer. Evan or mike definitely do and are widely regarded as the guru's as well as a few other names out there

I did the PPE Stage V kit with Suncoast 1056 converter. Did it myself and it works great. Best transmission I have ever driven. Instructions are good and combined with ASTG manual anyone with mechanic skills could build one.
