The rod hole needs to be expanded, where it goes over the pedal post, for the brake switch to work properly.

My 07 LBZ brakes are B R U T A L. THAT'S THE ONLY THING I HATE ABOUT MY TRUCK.

 

Thats so funny how things can differ between trucks.

I've always thought mine were excellent for the size and weight of the truck. I mean it wont out brake my BMW, but for having 35's I have to be careful how hard i get on them. It may sound funny, but I do drive it differently though, I kind of stab them when I get on them though. The only reason I'm doing the booster is because it appears to be leaking.

Many times, owners ignore for years, any type of maintenance in relation to brakes, (until they're metal on metal and need new pads), blaming performance on brand design and post questions on the best 'upgrade'.

I doubt that the '11 LML HB will dramatically change your braking system, but it's half the price and NEW, vs the old style (@ 2x $$) that's becoming hard to find except for REmans.

A true worthy upgrade? Add a PS fluid cooler to the mix. You'll release the heat load on fluid and components, greatly extending their lifespan. Along with performance endurance in dealing with repeated panic stops in stop/go traffic.

Is there any good reason to use the brake lube grease or can we just use a good chassis grease Like Mobile 1 red or Lucas Red?

I've always just used lube specific.
Such a small amount is needed.

 

I have always done the same. I figured since the brakes get so hot that the brake grease would withstand a higher temp before it flowed and left the pins/calipers dry.

I have to change my front rotors and will do the pads at the same time, warped and feeling it definitely in the steering wheel. Rock was the least expensive to get them, even with delivery costs.

Since the truck is 11 years old I will replace the caliper pins too. Didnt do that one time on an older Ford and I lived to regret it when even after lubing them one seized.

 

I recently did this on on 2006 because it was leaking bad. Since installing the 2011 boosters do flushing out the power steering fluid, I don’t have any brakes. I bled the brake system thinking that I got air in the lines somehow, but that didn’t fix the issue. The only problems I’ve read that people have had with this “upgrade” is with the brake pressure switch and the truck not going into gear. Mine goes into gear fine. I’m not sure if the rod is too short or what, the pedal does look like it’s sitting too close to the floor. Maybe it’s not releasing? I’m stumped on this one.

So i'm getting my thoughts in order on this LML hydroboost upgrade on my 07 LBZ since its seeping pretty aggressively, no leaks though, but the whole thing is coated in oil and dirt.

I'm planning on using a new AC Delco 178-0853

From what I can tell its a plug and play swap, save for some potential adjusting of the brake light switch. Is there anything I'm missing? any better boost unit? plan?

Just curious can u use the same master cylinder from the lbz with the lml booster?

 

shouldn't have any trouble with it. I work at a dealership and had both of them in stock. They looked IDENTICAL.

 

We have had two failed Hydro boosts where the power steering fluid and brake fluid have mixed causing brown liquid. We do pull a horse trailer living quarters lots in the summer which does put strain on the system. Has anybody else’s had similar experiences? Wondering if we replace it with the 2001 upgrade if we will have better results

Check your parking brake to see if it ic releasing fully. If not the dragging csn heat up the drum
