The vehicle cannot be remote started if:
. The key is in the ignition.
. The hood is not closed.
. There is an emission control system malfunction and the malfunction indicator lamp is on.
. Fuel level is too low.
The engine will turn off during a remote vehicle start if:
. The coolant temperature gets too high.
. The oil pressure gets low.
And while were at it:
- each 'start' is only good for 10 minute
(Means 2 10 minute starts or one start and a 10 minute extension)
- after the 2 starts, the key must be cycled before it will function again.
Starting the Engine Using Remote Start
1. Press and release lock button.
2. Immediately press and hold crank button until the turn signal lamps flash or for at least four seconds.
When the vehicle starts, the parking lamps will turn on. The doors will be locked and the climate control system may come on.
The engine will continue to run for 10 minutes.
After 30 seconds, repeat Steps 1 and 2 for a 10-minute time extension
If you have the 'elevated idle' enabled, it will work when remote started (if cold enough, etc)
It does cycle the glow plugs before it cranks.
