I've yet to go through a full tank. Biggest drawback is I need to find the right container to hold my XPD so i can add the right amount at each fillup.
Issue with that... i dont always fillup the same amount due to it being so crazy big.

I filled up last week at $3.07 at a Sam’s Club that has diesel just south of Denver. I guess I should consider myself lucky compared to what some you are paying right now.

Anyway, thanks Brandon!

Was just on S& B’s website, this is just more of an FYI. In case any of you are running gravity fed auxiliary tanks in addition to the S&B.
Does anyone know if this tank will fit a long bed despite the fact it was built for a short bed?

I bet if you reached out to S&B they could give you more info on what prevents it from fitting thebed.

It could be that the king bed fuel filter location is slightly different, or maybe that the mounting straps are different on the long beds.

Titan fuel tanks has a 60 gallon replacement tank for the 2020+ long bed trucks.

Man... It's starting to hurt filling this thing up @ $4.05/Gal... Sheez!
I have a Pentagon Federal (Penfed) Visa card. You get 3% off of all fuel purchases. No points or such just 3% cash back on your monthly statements. Locally in Omaha, Moto Mart diesel is 3.19 a gallon and it you go inside and prepay you get another .05 off a gallon. One reason I love this tank. I can go on a trip and have enough fuel left to go back and fill locally. Compared to his much they gouge you at the interstate truck stops this tank will pay for itself in little time. Dean

That’s definitely a great point about the fill ups and being able to avoid interstate gouging.

We also dothe fuel points/credit card cash back and it does help.

For Thanksgiving we have some travel planned and I’m excited that we won’t have to get fuel between start and finish - and that’s about 675 miles in between. We’ll actually have fuel to spare since we’re not towing. I expect we should see around 19-21 MPG for most of the drive.

Does anyone have problem getting it disconnected? The one with yellow clip that is attached to fuel filter.. I got the yellow clip loose but I couldn’t get it disconnected.

Both lines have the same type of connector. That said, I did manage to break one, and had to replace that entire line. Mostly because I didn't understand how the connectors worked.

Ha!

I called the SB support and they said to push in and pull out.. still didn’t work so I went back and rewatch the video from SB filter website and said it has a button, BAM it took off. Total 6 hours. I’m beat.

Yep. People say how easy of a job it is. It was a bit of a whipping for me flying solo on my back. I'll pull the bed with the help of a friend if I ever have to do it again.

Any more thoughts on this tank? Still going back and forth on it as I haven't heard yet if the DTE will reset or not and if it does, how long or many tanks that takes before it stops freaking out after the fill up.

Also, I've heard the filler neck is a little smaller than factory nd this causes a leak with filling the tank. True or no?

I contacted IdahoRob from ATP and asked if EFILive would/could reset the DTE. He said that the only thing that EFIlive was able to adjust was the fuel gauge to read correctly. The S&B doesn't have that issue since is comes with an OEM style sending unit. The Titan & TransferFlow tanks reuse the stock sending unit which isn't calibrated for aftermarket tanks so EFILive would adjust the "gallons at full" to re-calibrate the fuel gauge...

My fuel gauge is 100% correct with the S&B tank...

Admittedly, I only have about 7300 miles on my 2021 3500.

This tank was installed when very early on after I received my truck. 100%, I would do it again. I have yet to go a full tank without towing something, but my last tank had the least amount of towing and I think I had over 900 miles on the tank, mixed driving, with a Derringer and Pedal Monster.

My DTE seems to be getting better and better, though not as accurate as it was in stock form. But it does seem to be getting there and I do think it will get there eventually.

The filler neck is the same size as OEM - it actually reuses the OEM filler tube. Your post is the first I've heard leaks.

I'm pretty sure my truck is still learning and adjusting. After about 120 miles, the OEM fuel gauge drops to zero - but as soon as you shut the truck off, the next time you start all is well and it never happens again until the next fill. Titan Tanks says this will eventually stop but I don't think I've filled enough times for that to happen. The digital cluster takes more fill ups. For me this is a non-issue and aside from this my OEM fuel gauge is just as accurate as when the OEM tank was installed.

I also have the fuel gauge percentage showing on one of my iDash gauges. Even when the OEM gauge drops to zero the iDash reading remains available and still shows its correct percentage reading. I fill up when I get to about 8-10% remaining most cases.

For the newer tanks the OEM sending unit transfers over, but you do replace the float arm with a longer one that comes with the tank.

My biggest gripe isn't with the tank - it's that no fill station will allow a full fill up without having to swipe my card twice (unless paying inside maybe). Most places have a cut off of $100 though some are a bit higher. My last fill was exactly $200 but it had been about 70 days between fill ups. Had to pay twice, and with rising diesel costs, this isn't likely to change any time soon.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the tank and even if I didn't have a 5th wheel to tow (where the extra capacity really shines), I would do it again.

I agree. My indication on fuel level is spot on with the new tank. S&B shows on their site to be able to correct the mileage to empty from the DIC. When I called them about this the application was only available on the Fords and maybe Dodges, they did not have anything that worked for GM. Actually all I use from the DIC is the gallons used. One of the gas stations I use to fill up give a 5 cent per gallon discount if you prepay inside (I think it is a gimmick to get you to buy something inside when you fill up) but when you are filling a 62 gallon tank, it adds up.

As for leaking at the filler neck connection that is news to me. Mine was fine. The only thing I get for a leak is the little breather line did not get routed up and away from the tank when I installed mine. I might get a drop or two overnight when it is topped off but nothing from the filler neck. My only regret on this tank was not doing it sooner! There is easily a 40 cents per gallon difference in my area on what I pay locally for diesel and what they gouge you for diesel at the big truck stops on the interstate. This allows me more flexibility on where I stop for fuel when on a trip. That adds up quickly! The only other mod I have done since adding the S&B tank is I put a heater circuit on my lift pump. With that big of a tank it definitely takes longer to get the fuel up to temp on the really cold days. Dean

100% agree with @Dean E I wish i had done this earlier. Its a chunk of change but i can justify driving to a Sams club 15 min further in order to save $12.5 to put 50-something gallons in it.
Plus its a BLAST taking my time filling up when its a line of gassers waiting for one a VERY FEW pumps that serve diesel and gas.
Super dont like it but cant really blame them. Really need the station to have diesel-only pumps but... i get why they dont.

What really gets my blood flowing is people who park at the very few pumps that have diesel then walk inside for a piss or to buy a slushy when other stations are bare. Not even the common courtesy to park somewhere else. D
