Service Parking Assist System

Had something interesting happen to me yesterday. The DIC kept flashing up intermittently an annoying message saying "Service: Parking Assist System". Kept on doing it even after turning the parking assist off at the center console button. It would keep coming back even after hitting the "Dismiss" button.

When I backed up to a fence, the back up camera would not display the triangle with the "!" in the center either nor would the DIC show the truck icon with the proximity bars. I ended up finding a bit of a spider web hanging over one of the rear sensors so I cleaned all of them; front and back. The back sensors still wouldn't work but the fronts did.

I left the truck for about 4 hours and when I came back, everything worked! Go figure...???

Anyone else have a similar experience? I hope the problem doesn't come and require another dealer visit. If it does come back, I'm going to crawl underneath the back bumper and check for loose connections.

Update:

It's been over three days after simply cleaning the sensors and it has been all good; no issues. It just kind of wierded me out that right after cleaning the sensors it still did it but 4 hours later and through today there hasn't been a single issue. Knock-on-wood...

Every vehicle I've ever had with these type of sensors has had that issue when they get excessively wet (like going through a car wash with the underbody spray). Problem goes away when they dry out. Had you gone through a car wash recently?
