Can anyone give me there thoughts on the 5-6 speed conversion. I have an 02 3500 with 320,000 miles and I need to do the valve body and TCM. Saw the 5-6 speed conversion and thought I could kill 2 birds with one stone and get an upgrade at the same time. Is this valve body worth the $1400 price?

Current upgrades, edge attitude, volant air filter, air dog, Banks exhaust.

I drive a good deal, but ran the numbers. If you spend $1,600 on the mod (parts and labor) and it gets you 1.5 more mpg then you would get approx 39 more miles per tank. So with diesel at $3.50 per gallon, and averaging 21 mpg you're saving $6.50 per tank. You need to run 246 tanks of fuel, or 134,316 mile JUST to break even. If you fuel up 1.5 time per week, it would take you 3.15 years. Not really worth it once you run the numbers.

I have this conversion. It's nice on the freeways where there are high speeds. Does it pay? See the post above mine. It's on the mark.
