Evo Race lvl 3 I can implement my Batman Smoke Screen. Lock in 6th puts more load on the engine. More smoke

 

more fuel to accelerate with without letting the turbo spool, if you roll into it a bit slower it wont smoke AS BAD but the PPE is telling the engine that your foot wants more fuel and the turbo doesnt get the message as quickly

i would use it as an excuse for twins

 

when you do that downshift and it should stop laying smoke..laying smoke up a hill isnt very good..

If you think 4 is bad try 5 6 7 or 8 trust me it’s a bad day for a Toyota. If the smoke bothers you look in to EFI live and a faster spooling turbo.

 

I keep my PPE hot2 on lvl 4 all the time.I can lay serious smoke if I want.I like the power and like for it to just be on tap when I need it!

 

ya i keep my rbp on level 5 and someone pisses me off they get it haha i did notice less when i got my afe on tho

 

my ats i used to have would lay down some nice black stuff too

 

my truck smoked a bunch stock black smoke with the superchips on tow smokes abunch put it on performance can cloud the highway out
when runnin along if i touch the go pedal it smokes ive gotten used to it causes alot of other diesel trucks to wanna run though

 

downshift an the smoke will stop or be greatly reduced

 

i hate smoky tunes as a DD tune.... only time i would like it is if you are actually trying to roll some coal at times.

 

I noticed mine smoking yesterday while on lvl 2 pulling my trailer, it was actually smoking while idleing.

 

so how hard is this on the trans and the engine. It's just odd because on level 3 it doesn't smoke at all unless i hammer it on take off. Like stated before, i'm not anywhere near full throttle and I don't necessarily have to be going up a hill. I like the mileage and the extra power but it's not worth the $170 ticket from the local revenue enhancement service!!!

 

What are you rpm's when this occurs. Seems like it is just lugging and needs to down shift.

 

they range between 1600 and 2000. it does seem to be lugging but not anything extreme

 

The smoke is probably a side effect of it lugging. What kind of boost numbers are you seeing when it occurs? A down-shift should clean it up since you will be in the rpm's more and have more boost also.

 

boost numbers are like 10-12

 

just keep it at 3 grand all the time and you wont have to worry about it.

 

my evo race on level 7 will blow a decent puff when I hammer it then cleans up to a very light haze. Probably cause the boost is 30 + psi

 

With those boost numbers it does not appear it's lugging.

 

eh mine lugs a little at 10psi if the revs get to low, i saw try the next gear down and report back

 

ok, so tonight i was climbing a pretty steep hill and noticed that it was starting to fog the cars behind me. I downshifted manually and as stated above, it cleaned it up almost immediatly. I hate to say it but I'm going back to one of the lower levels. At least 'till the twins come along. Thanks for the help guys.
