I made one for mine. my tune locks it in second gear anyway, i just wired mine up to the horn button, with a switch i can change it from a horn to a lockup button :D

you're forgetting to mention to everyone that your "lockup switch" limps the trans and inhibits reverse though.. :D

Correct is relative. I chose the easy way and took care of it it in the tuning. The other way you do it is with about 30 dollars of off the shelf electronics.

I suggest you find out the facts before you assault someones intelligence, just saying
cheers, Jerome

that doesnt work all the time, sorry.

tell me how, you seem confident you have something that works. Just because harley babbled something in your ear doesnt make you an expert. Doesnt make him an expert either, for that matter. And while we are on that topic.....arent you supposed to be a supporting vendor?

I suggest you find out the facts before you assault someones intelligence
dude you saying that to me about allison lockup controllers is like telling alexander graham bell "I suggest you find out the facts about the telephone before you assault someones intelligence"

Well if you just ground the wire controlling the lockup soloniod, it will failsafe the tranny, as duratothemax said, Basically you have to give the solonoid a pulsewith modulation so it doesnt see it shorted to ground, thus preventing a failsafe.

Well i did it so tell me it dont work, thats fine it works just the way i want it to. Its like your sayin your the only one that has figured it out. If you want to get your Panties in a wad thats ok, But look im not trying to start a pissin match, so i will tell everbody,
Buy duratothemaxs lockup controller!!!!!!!!!!! it is the only one that works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously tho for the average guy to figure it out its probably not worth the time it takes, better off just to buy one. :drink

Im have studied the circuitry some I believe i know how it would need to be done, and i believe both sides of the circuit would need to be fooled, but like i said i did mine the easy way, so no i not sayin i have done it the way your doing it. Sorry im not meaning to get you in a wad. I was trying to give a general idea of what would need to be done. NOT tell them how to do it.

My converter locks when i want it to, stays, locked when i want it to, and does not failsafe.

For reference, I tore my motor down completely by myself. And built it completely back with him helping me when i was doing the critical bits. I did everything else myself.
And i built my own trans why he was on vacation in california.

Im not trying to start crap, Ok? :drink

doing it in tuning doesnt fix the problem, im sorry.

You can do whatever you want with efilive, the converter will still not lock right away in second gear. If it does lock, then you arent running enough power.

Im not sure you came up with the PWM thing yourself by "studying the circuitry". Its not in the service manual....the frequencies and currents and stuff....

Oh ok think what you want im not gonna try to argue with you

correct, hence the reason for my lockup switch. When i hit it, it locks and stays locked in second gear on up, and does not failsafe.

I guess there is a table were missing in the tune that would let us do it all in the tune, i hope we get it as well as all the manual control tables too, it appears we are missing those as well for the 6 speeds

That is fine. im not trying to convince you of anything. And i dont get all butt hurt over stuff like this.
I shall repeat. My converter locks up when i want it to and stays locked when i want it to, and unlocks when i want it to, and does not failsafe.

And no, I will not show any pics because i dont have any and im not gonna tell anyone how to do it so i dont plan on hurting your sales

I have nothing to prove to you

I have not seen anything about what you posted, I havnt even looked at your stuff

That bit of agreeing with you, that was a quote, but didnt show up as that, because i typed hastily on my way out the door this morning.

In case you still dont understand, my switch does exactly what i want it to, in conjunction with tuning

Look its all cool i like the way mine works, and we dont plan on making any such thing to sell, although we might put a couple on existing customers trucks
Sorry i didnt realize my switch would offend you.

cheers :drink

Then why did you even post about it if you arent gonna show proof?

OH STFU. You are nothing to me. You posting your stupid non-existant switch means nothing to me. OK you have my full permission to post pics of your switch. Im not scared. Because I think you're full of shit.

I have nothing to prove to you
WTF Yes you do!! You're throwing your shit around like you're an expert and you have some great switch that works just like mine and is perfect. So um, yeah, prove it. Dont talk something up if you cant

I have not seen anything about what you posted, I havnt even looked at your stuff
Yes you have, you've barely been on here 6 months and have 830 posts. You read everything. Dont stand there and tell me you've NEVER SEEN ANY OF MY POSTS DISCUSSING LOCKUP SWITCHES.

That bit of agreeing with you, that was a quote, but didnt show up as that, because i typed hastily on my way out the door this morning.
oh my god, isnt that what EVERYONES excuse is when they realize they sounded like an idiot or messed something up that they said...well they either use that or the "oh uh sorry it was late and I was tired and not thinking" (and then you look at the post time and its like 2:30 in the afternoon)

In case you still dont understand, my switch does exactly what i want it to, in conjunction with tuning
nope. sorry. dont understand. not good enough. Wont understand until you post pics/video of it. Ive posted plenty of pics/video proof of mine.

"in conjunction with tuning". No...sorry...tuning has nothing to do with a TC lockup switch that actually works the right way. If you "magic switch" wont work without your "magic tuning", then your switch isnt doing shit.

Look its all cool i like the way mine works, and we dont plan on making any such thing to sell, although we might put a couple on existing customers trucks
I could care less what you do with it. Since when did I give the impression that Im threatened by it? Im not. I just think you're full of shit and I hate when people are armchair duramax experts (like how you would post up trans/engine build recommendations before you had even seen the inside of an allison or duramax) and talk about stuff that they havent done.

Sorry i didnt realize my switch would offend you.

cheers :drink
ok dude. sorry, Jerome. Its not your damn switch that pisses me off. Its the fact that you are talking it up and not showing any pics or proof. Ill leave you alone when you show me pics and video of it working.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE. If you post pics/video/proof of it working, then you'll make me look like an idiot cause I doubted you! Hey!! Wouldnt that be something? I dont know one single person on this forum that wouldnt jump on the opportunity in a second to make ME look like an idiot!!!!!! :D :rockin

I've ridden in Jerome's truck several times over the last few days, converter lock up switch works perfectly, locks whenever he hits the switch, first, second, reverse, take your pick. It works. I'll try to get a bore scope camera , hang underneath the truck and make a video of the solenoid energizing when he hits the switch so you can see it, will that help?:rofl

#31 ·
:rof Nah well just use the borescope to check up my butt hole and see if im full of $hit. Then well no if im telling the truth or not. :neener

My TC locker switch works awesome !! It locks in 2nd gear and I have the button hidden on the end of the gear shifter :D

No, because that is a TCM-triggered/monitored/diagnosed DTC...not ECM.

We dont have access to TCM DTC monitors with efilive. IE, we cant shut off codes in the TCM with efilive. ECM only.
