Thanks for the information,
I'm familiar with the CP4 pumps (won't touch them) and the CP3 pumps (I trust these) but going to have to research HP4 pumps. If the HP4 pumps are just another version of CP4 pumps I'll be holding off on a new truck for a while.

Putting in a CP3 conversion has crossed my mind. Trying to find a Youtube video that shows the tear down view/build of GM's pump.

If I were to change out the pump, for me that means finding someone to do the job for me. I have restored a few car when I was younger and the cars were easier to work on but nowadays I leave the repair work to someone else.
