Anyone ever experience trying to start a 3.0 Duramax and it won’t fire? Starter engages and cranks engine but will not fire and start.
What’s the fix?Well seeing as they now have a fix for this problem the video is a little late!
A shim on the Camshaft position sensor, they are saying the air gap is to big for the sensor to read at times. No clue if it fixes it but that’s what they are doing now. Not very invasive, 3 hour repair. What’s the fix?
it’s not a recall. If you experience the problem the dealership has access to the bulletin for the repair. It appears to affect everything that has the 3.0 in it but affects 2021’s more than 2020’s.Has anyone heard if there's going to be a recall and what models/engines are effected?
If it's a physical fix (shim) then why would it only impact mostly 2021's? They had to have changed something..it’s not a recall. What's the number of the technical bulletin. I've had about 15 no starts and only 2700 miles. I've resisted the pull cab bulletin. Love to bring this new number to them.
What about your radio settings? Do they rest as well? Mine does! Also this screen displays each time after this happens, anyone else notice this? Not even sure if this is a thing, but figured id mention it. View attachment 1088080
What is the service bulletin number?it’s not a recall. If you experience the problem the dealership has access to the bulletin for the repair. It appears to affect everything that has the 3.0 in it but affects 2021’s more than 2020’s.
From the bulletin, it's basically the opposite problem of the original bent wheel repair. Instead of the wheel being bent in, it's actually too far out and needs a shim. The same labor is required.A shim on the Camshaft position sensor, they are saying the air gap is to big for the sensor to read at times. No clue if it fixes it but that’s what they are doing now. Not seeing where the same labor is required to install the shim as replace the exciter wheel. It appears the shim is something installed on the sensor to bring it closer to the wheel. Not necessary to pull the cab in that case. From the bulletin, it's basically the opposite problem of the original bent wheel repair. Ah, I read it as the shim being on the wheel itself. Not seeing where the same labor is required to install the shim as replace the exciter wheel. It appears the shim is something installed on the sensor to bring it closer to the wheel. Not necessary to pull the cab in that case.
