I have 40K miles on my 2019 GMC Sierra HD Duramax and the dealer is recommending that I have the fuel system serviced utilizing the BG fuel system cleaning system. The price quoted is $400 and the recommendation is based on the mileage on the truck. I utilize the Archoil fuel system additive on a regular basis and don't have any issues with the vehicle. Jusy wondering if anyone has utilized the BG fuel cleaning service and how did it work. I only use the truck when I pull my RV trailer that is at approx 8K pounds. not a heavy load but a load just the same. I avg approx 10.5 mpg when towing at 75 mph and drops to 9.5 mpg when towing at 81 mph. usually avg 20mpg when running without the trailer. I live in Colorado at 6,700 ft in elevation and usually tow the Trailer up to the high country around the 10K mile elevation.

They all run fine and I've likely saved enough money to buy 3 sets of injectors if I ever need them.

Removes deposits from the entire diesel injection system, including heavy deposits in the combustion chambers and inside the injectors of HPCR systems.
If you want to service the fuel system, just go to a BG distributor and buy the products you need. BG products certainly aren't cheap, but they are good. Dealer is going to charge a LOT of labor to do the same thing you can do at home.
Then whatever the BG thing is going to do, will be for naught.
If it makes you feel better, toss in a bottle of whatever cleaner / treatment catches your eye..... like Stanadyne.

As everyone else has said, it sounds like they're trying to make a buck off you. I don't have an l5p, but have known plenty of people with varying years of duramax and I've never heard of a dealer recommending a fuel system cleaning. If you're worried, do it yourself. Theyre not going to tear anything apart for 400$, just run additives/cleaners through your system. Some people run additives, some don't. If you're already using the archoil I'm sure that's plenty as long as you're regularly changing fuel filters.
