Hey wolf, Can I do this with no computer issues to my truck and without an egr blocker plate? Truck is stock performance wise with all the emmisions BS still on it. 52000 miles and want to do this if I wont have issues.
thanks

Yes Sir. No issues at all. Keeps the oil out of the Intercooler, Egr and Turbo. It's also very easy to change back to stock. Alligator Performance has a really nice kit that comes with two Billet plugs if you want a a cleaner more permanent PCV Reroute. The link is on the previous page.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Damn they are expensive

great write up WOLFN8TR. Going to do this on my truck. Was concerned about warranty and emission issues. but seems so easy to go back to stock if needed. I might even try going thru emissions with it. Not gonna plug the resonator though. Just gonna do the PCV reroute and use a billet PCV plug.

My intake boot is dirty too. How did you clean yours? Did you just do external cleaning or try to clean the tube also?

thx

Does plugging the resonator affect anything? Performance? Mileage? Just a way to ensure nothing falls down the tube in the event the box falls apart? And thanks for a great write up by the way.

It's very easy to change back to stock. I change it back for emission checks also.

I took off the top boot and cleaned all the oil out of the inside and reinstalled. Sprayed the entire intercooler tube with Simple Green and washed it off. I no longer have any oil leaking out of the top boot.

Update (4/09/11) Here is a photo of the intercooler tube. Nice and clean still.

Honestly No. If my turbo got any louder it's very hard to tell. I used a Tapered Rubber Plug and the box fits right over it. Be sure not to use anything metal like a plumber plug that has the wingnut on it.

There was a guy on here that had that metal bolt come loose and took out his turbo. I would use a rubber Jim Cap instead, it fits over the intake with a hose clamp on the outside.

Hey do you guys think i should do the PCV reroute?

Sarcasim? haha. but seriously..is not having the pcv reroute what caused all that?

Yes. Dude that's alot of nasty oil blowing thru your intercooler pipe. I would take it off and clean out both intercooler boots and reinstall after you do the Reroute.

Here is a link for the Billet plugs.

And another Link for Billet plugs and PCV Kit.

Ok thanks. I drive on very few paved roads so thats why everything is so dirty. But clearly there is some oil around there causing the dirt and mud to stick to it.

No.

You need a new boot, clamps or to tighten them down.

Although it doesn't affect the intercooler performance one bit, the end result would be unmeasureable in any performance sense.
